Nursing measures of neonatal hypoglycemia

TOP 0

Newborns can't talk, so nursing is very important. The symptoms of hypoglycemia in adults include palpitation, chest tightness, sweating and discomfort. The symptoms of hypoglycemia in newborns are mainly pale, cold and humid. Once found, glucose should be supplemented intravenously.

The simplest way is to feed frequently. Usually, infants are fed on demand. Children with hypoglycemia are fed once every 3 hours at first. If hypoglycemia symptoms are found before the next meal, it is suggested to shorten the feeding time and feed once every 2 hours or even 1.5 hours. When children have symptoms of hypoglycemia, it is suggested that blood sugar is already low, so monitoring blood sugar is beneficial to find hypoglycemia before symptoms appear and control it.
